Children’s Ministry Director

Maranatha Grace Church is a reformed, baptistic, multiethnic church in the greater Fort Lee area of New Jersey. We are located right across the George Washington Bridge from New York City. Job Overview

Maranatha Grace Church (MGC) is seeking a part-time MKidz Director to lead its ministry serving approximately 50 children, from 10 months to 5th grade. This role requires on-site work, and candidates must be able to serve as active members in our church community.

Responsibilities

Program Planning and Execution

• Develop and deliver gospel-centered, age-appropriate lessons and songs for children

• Recruit, train, and provide ongoing evaluation for volunteers to ensure effective leadership

• Oversee and manage the children’s ministry budget with stewardship and accountability

• Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings for collaboration and planning

• Organize and coordinate special events such as Vacation Bible School, volunteer training sessions and appreciation events, and Christmas/Easter song practices

Parental Support

• Foster strong relationships with parents through regular and meaningful communication

• Support and equip parents as they take the primary role in their child’s spiritual development

• Arrange or recruit babysitters for church events such as Members’ Meetings and Membership Classes

Safety & Facility Management

• Maintain a safe environment for all children by strictly adhering to the Child Protection Policy

• Conduct thorough background checks for all volunteers involved in children’s ministry

• Organize and execute regular fire and safety drills

• Ensure classrooms are well-stocked with necessary supplies and kept clean, organized, and sanitary

Qualifications

Required

• A faithful follower of Jesus

• A humble, teachable, unifying, and supporting spirit

• Agreement to the church’s faith documents

Preferred

• Training and background with working with children

• Children’s ministry experience

• Strong administrative skills

• Familiarity with Planning Center

Position Details

Reporting

• The MKidz director will serve under the authority of the local church led by the elders.

Compensation

• This part-time position offers compensation of $27,000 annually for approximately 20 hours of work per week.
